Berth | Place is a collaboration between LJMU Architecture, the Daniel Adamson Preservation Society (DAPS) and interference-art with a common focus on the design for sustainable futures to embed the benefits to health and well-being of access to historic waterways, maritime heritage, natural landscape and ecology and community ‘owned’ public space.

The design research project takes place in partnership with the region’s unique maritime heritage asset, the 1903 Mersey-built steam tug tender, SS Daniel Adamson, exploring possibilities for outdoor learning facilities at her Sutton Weaver Berth using low impact regenerative materials, which would greatly amplify her education, community engagement and placemaking potential.
